I can't skip songs or change channels on the MMI/AMI screen, but that's a small matter. It can still be done directly on the iPhone screen, observing normal driver safety awareness. The cable is long enough to locate my iPhone virtually anywhere within my reach in the cabin. My Audi-iPhone telephone link operates normally. Five stars because it does what it's supposed to do.

I have been listening to podcasts, books, music. The phone still works hands free for phone calls while plugged in. The phone does not charge as far as I could tell. This is the fourth MDI cord I've tried for my VW Eos that had an outdated media input. The first three all worked as an aux cord, however it would constantly cycle through charging on and off because the lightning connection was weak. While this isn't a connection for iPhone, it works with my adapter and the sound quality is excellent. I wish it acted like a charger, but being aux-only is MUCH preferred to the ones that kept my phone beeping and buzzing the entire drive because they tried to charge but couldn't.

After way too much time researching this issue, the ad for this popped up on some web page I was on. It arrived 10 minutes ago, I had it plugged in and functioning inside of 30 seconds. Sounds great, easy to install. My iphoneX needs the adapter for it but that's an apple issue. If you have an Audi with the MMI buy with confidence. This works.

It has been great the sound quality is great and I never have a problem with it being to short. It can reach to the backseat. The only issue is that I have to use a dongle for the aux jack end and convert it to lightning for iPhone.
