I purchased this for my 11 year old gamer who loved to sit on the couch with her laptop( 16" ) and play, she looked very uncomfortable with her back arched for hours and her legs folded, this is perfect because she can now sit properly with a better posture and her legs stretched out. Build quality is good, so far no issues with it collapsing unexpectedly, shifting or bending, and the mouse plate is ok, I think the surface should be bigger, or large enough to support a standard-sized mouse pad, but that definitely isn't that much of an issue, and I would recommend this laptop lap stand.

My neck is in constant pain due to a car accident years ago and looking down for very long will guarantee a severe headache. I use it for my computer and to write on. The stand is sturdy. I'll extend it all the way up so I can stand and use my wall monitor and it will wiggle a little side to side if you move your hands that way, but that doesn't happen with normal typing! The "lip" holding the computer in place is slightly higher than my laptop, but not enough to hurt your wrist. The tray seems to be metal and legs, plastic and not at all flimsy. It does slide so I put rubber bands on (see picture) and that stopped the problem.

I am using this in bed while laid up with a knee injury. I am pretty lean, 190, 6"2" and it couldn't be any narrower so if you have wide thighs you may have difficulty with this straddling your legs. It is easily adjustable and holds the computer at the perfect angle to work effectively. If you stumble across a picture that shows the joints all broken up, understand that if you use this for a step stool, it is going to break (duh!). It holds my Macbook Pro just fine. I can work for hours like this. If you think you might be able to use it, buy it. You won't be disappointed.

I've been using this for several weeks, and it really helps my neck stay in a more neutral position, which results in less strain. It's very sturdy. For an inexpensive riser, this thing is amazing! You can adjust it so many ways...it is exactly what I was looking for. It takes a little time to get used to adjusting it so don't be surprised if you're a little frustrated at first. Once you get the hang of it you will find there are 2 or 3 positions you like best and I just marked the dials for quick reference. When this is set up at a standing height it feels a bit wobbly and definitely won't support much weight so you can't lean on it at all. I didn't want to pay for a standing desk and I like that this option was portable so I can use it anywhere (work, home, car, in bed...anywhere). I highly recommend for the versatility. My back and neck love it too!

The fan is a nice option when working with it on your lap. The only negative is the mouse pad is a little slippery. Even though I have it level, the mouse keeps sliding off. I need to find something to add a little grip. I am so glad I ended up selecting this desk. It's easy to adjust with the push of a button to use in bed, on the couch, on the floor, or even standing at a table.

Okay I think this is a great product and great design. I read for a living. I also have RA. I got this to alleviate all that strain. You can use it as a lap top type of stand while in bed or sit it on a table. It also has a fan incorporated inn it for people to use with their lap top and keep their lap top cool. The design I think is quite good. You can position these legs in various ways to get the right height that you need to be functional for you. The top also that be adjusted forward and back for the right angle for your reading etc. It would be good for someone to sit art work on as well. If they are sketching or drawing. I know I will use this in many different ways.

i bought this when my belly was starting to get bigger and resting my laptop on it was uncomfortable, i also figured that it wasn't great to have it directly on there for a number of reasons. anyway it is perfect. sturdier than i feared it would be, since the joints are made of plastic, and it's super adjustable. it takes a bit of attention to make it level, but i like that it has so many options for adjustment, because sometimes the surface i'm on isn't totally flat, (especially as i get bigger and need more propping up!) and so having one leg offset from the other is actually preferable.

I've been really happy with this. My laptop is my primary computer at my desk. I use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and this allows me to position my laptop screen at a comfortable height. I almost knocked one star because it is challenging to adjust by myself sometimes, but that's really because all the pieces move so independently of eachother, which is mostly a good thing. I would not recommend this if you want to adjust it all the time - like to take with you to different offices or coffee shops regularly, or to adjust daily for different people using the same desk. That would be a pain. But to get your lap top to the right height and adjust once in a while when you change your chair or something, it's great.

I use a separate keyboard and I did not use the included mouse attachment at all. This stand works well for a situation where you don't need to physically interact with the laptop much. It probably isn't stable enough for using the laptop keyboard because (depending on the setup) it would increase the risk of tipping. But for a hands-off stand it is perfect.
