I assembled the bottom shelf on the floor (and then disassembled it) so it was clear how it would feel.

Assemble the bottom shelf into the four lower sections of the rack. Then loosen the remaining two shelves onto the bottom shelf. Screw in the upper part of the bracket. Raise the top shelf slightly above its final position and slide the black wedges into place from below. Put the top shelf in its final position. Then raise the center shelf slightly above its final position and insert the black wedges from below (as we did earlier for the top shelf). Put the center shelf in its final position..done.

I know some people who fear that they might not be able to assemble one of these devices. I just want to say to all those who doubt that I am a woman who will turn 75 in 10 weeks and that I am (quoting my late mother) "comfortably plump". Packaging is rather straightforward, as there is not much more than the uprights and shelves and 3 small packages containing the adjustable feet, the plastic sleeves that fit around the uprights to allow for shelf installation, and a tipping restraint. The instructions are in multiple languages and there is a good diagram of the assembly. This is a light duty shelving unit, so I don't think anything should be placed on each shelf.
