It is pretty simple. Just put in the AA batteries and keep your fingers off the base of the device that has a gearage which turns the lid. Put the unopened jar on a flat space. Put the device on top of the jar lid. Then press the green button and keep your finger of the button. There will be a noise as the device latches onto the lid. Wait until it finishes. At a point, I learned when to release my finger from the green button and let the device do its work. I keep one hand on the jar while keeping my finger on the green button. Stand back a bit and wait for the BANG. The lid is totally off! Next, Enjoy your food! NOTE that this is not a device a child should use because of the automatic turning gearage when the button is pushed.
Opening jars, bottles, etc has been my number one area of frustration. The RoboTwist gives me the ability to open these items without having to twist my wrists at all.
I did a video to show the operating mechanics of it; nothing for it to hold onto so there is a click sound due to how close the parts are. No worse for wear though. Need to install two AA batteries first.
So, so much easier!
First, move the rubber grip of the outer jaws all the way down.
Next, place the jar opener evenly on the top of the jar / bottle (my bane is giant juice bottles/containers for my kids)
Then, press and hold the start button.
Voila! The outer jaws begin to move in. Release the button when the outer jaws pause and the inner jaws begin their magic.
After opening the lid by itself, the jaws return to their original position.
