This was a replacement for a wooden stand with steel bowls. The height on this one is taller, which means our older dog doesn't have to lean down. With this one, he no longer drops food on the floor to eat. He's happy to eat from the bowl. Also, cleaning the mess from food and water on the old wooden frame was impossible. This once has a little rim to catch water spills, which has kept the mess off the floor, and the plastic is easy to wash. Also, the bowls are slightly larger than what we had before, which gives our dog more room to eat and fewer water refills. Someone commented that the bowls are hard to lift out. I have very short nails and just slide one under the edge, and have 0 difficulty. Really very pleased and highly recommend!

My rescue dog is sensitive to loud noises. These bowls do not budge when he is eating or drinking since the lip of the stand has grips on it. Previous feeders we've tried have not had those grips so the bowls move a lot and water or food will splash around. The bowls are easy to clean and nonporous as well.
