Paint Thickness Gauge

Works well. I don't know how accurate it is, but I really wanted to know the difference between panels on a vehicle which it does well. I can tell the diffence easily between original paint and respray on a car where I know about where the thickness should be.

It is cheap but it will work to measure the coating thickness on the metal part of any car. Buy this affordable tool if you dont have to be perfect 100%. Very useful to check out the used cars you would like to buy, guys do this before bring the car to your mechanic for a final inspection.

This works very well. It is accurate (or consistent, I suppose), with another coating thickness gauge that I have used. I was easily able to identify a known-to-me repair spot and I like that this is very compact and works very quickly: it's definitely something I will bring with me, next time I am in the market for a used car.The body is built well and is somewhat durable. I haven't dropped it but it does seem like it can handle the odd accident.

Not super accurate. I used it to gauge the thickness of the paint on my steel boat. FYI you need to put both coin batteries in in order for it to work.

I buy and sell a lot of new and used cars. This device allows me to quickly assess if there has been previous damage or repaints done to areas of the car.

Works well. Fit for purpose. Appears to be accurate. I use it when buffing car paint to determine thin paint spot/ areas before applying ceramic and graphite coatings.

For the price, it is a perfect tool.I have rejected used 20 cars, because between - 5 - 6 mm is factory paint thickness at least for Audi and Mercedes which i inspected personally.
